Keyboard shortcut - add a hyperink to text!

I don’t know about you, but I find adding a link to text in docs, sheets, emails, slide decks… tedious.

Soooo tedious…

And I do it often. So I looked up the keyboard shortcut - who doesn’t love shortcuts? Now I’m sharing it with you

  1. Copy hyperlink = CTRL+C

  2. Highlight link description text (Ie: Cloud Accounting Templates)

    • Double click is a quick way to highlight

    • This opens the dialog box for text and a hyperlink

    • You can also double-click your cursor on whitespace where you want to add the link and text

  3. Add link = CTRL+K

    • If you double-clicked on whitespace you can now add any description text

  4. Paste link = CTRL+V

  5. Close & save = hit enter

This also works in many apps you may not have realized. Such as your website builder, Notion, and Canva to name a few.

And here’s a fun little idea to keep track of links you share often (for when you can’t use your Streamdeck) - craft up a spreadsheet of them. More on that coming up in another email, but here’s a hint; have at least one tabbed sheet for your social media links.
